Regulatory reset

Every five years, we put together a detailed plan for the electricity network. We send it to the Australian Energy Regulator, or AER, for approval. This plan is called a regulatory reset.

The regulatory reset matters to you. It sets how much money we can spend to keep your power safe and reliable. It also sets the network charges on your bill. These charges make up about a third of a typical household electricity bill.

Right now, we're working under a plan that runs from 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2026. Our next plan will cover 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2031. To find out more information about these plans, see below.

How we engage in the regulatory reset

We want our plan to match what our customers need and expect. That's why listening to you matters so much as we build it. To build out our plans for 2026-2031, we spoke to nearly 20,000 customers and stakeholders.

Customers are at the heart of everything we do. You're involved at every stage of the regualtory reset process. The feedback we hear gives you a real say in the decisions we make as a business.

We do this in different ways. Sometimes we simply share information with you. Other times we ask for your feedback, invite you to get involved, or work together with you directly. This happens face-to-face, online, and through other activities, on issues that affect your everyday life.

We also work with our independent Customer Advisory Panel. This panel represents the views of customers and other stakeholders.
