Works
The works will include the replacement of power poles and powerlines, as well as upgrades to underground electrical infrastructure.
As part of this project, temporary lane closures and traffic changes will be in place along:
- Leakes Road
- Dohertys Road
- Palmers Road
When
Works will take place overnight from Monday 31 August to Thursday 3 September 2026.
To minimise disruption to traffic, crews will work between 8:00pm and 5:00am each night.
Traffic impacts
Temporary lane closures and changed traffic conditions will be in place around work areas. Traffic management will be on site to safely guide motorists through and around the works.
Please allow extra travel time, follow signage and traffic controller directions, and take care when travelling through the area.

Near the intersection of Palmers and Leakes Road, Truganina:
On Leakes Road, near Foundation Road and the Federation Trail, Truganina:
On Leakes and Fitzgerald Roads, Laverton North:
On Leakes Road, near the intersection of Leakes Road and Delivery Drive, Truganina:
At the intersection of Palmers and Doherty Road, Truganina.
Please note that a detour will be in place for vehicles travelling south, from Doherty's Road to Palmers Road.
What to expect
- Traffic management will be in place to safely guide vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians around the work areas. Please observe signage and directions.
- While works are underway, local access will be maintained at all times.
- While we’re working in the area, you may notice some extra noise and vehicle traffic.
- Please be aware that works can sometimes take longer than expected or need to be rescheduled due to weather and other factors outside of our control.
- Some of this work will be noisy.
